My personal opinion?
Joel Osteen is what is wrong with Christianity today. The non-believer sees this and says: I don't want nothing to do with this. Why? If a non-believer truly wants change, with Osteen, change is not required. The only message I see Osteen preach is how to compromise the Christian faith. And that it is only about love, and what makes you feel good. By the way, that is the same message the hippies in the 70's told everyone. And look how they turned out.
Teaching 1/2 of the Gospel is teaching only 1/2 the truth. Can you make it to heaven on 1/2 truth? What would you say to Jesus or God on judgement day for only believing 1/2 of what the bible says? What excuse will you use when you are asked why, when you held the word in your hand. Joel Osteen won't be there to defend us. We will stand alone for our sins. What will we say? No words can change what we have done or believed.
James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
If you were brought up knowing the full meaning of God's word, and you bought into this ministry that teaches only 1/2. It means that you knew better but choose to believe in a deception anyway. Which also means: You knoweth to do good, but doeth it not, so what you do now becomes a sin. A sin of rebellion against God.
