Global flood stories are documented as history or legend in almost every region on earth. Missionaries around the world reported their amazement at finding remote tribes already possessing legends with tremendous similarities to the Bible's accounts of the worldwide flood. H.S. Bellamy in Moons, Myths and Men estimates that altogether there are over 500 Flood stories worldwide. Ancient civilizations such as (China, Babylonia, Wales, Russia, India, America, Hawaii, Scandinavia, Sumatra, Peru, and Polynesia) all have their own versions of a giant flood. These flood stories are frequently linked by common elements that parallel the Biblical account including the warning of the coming flood, the construction of a boat in advance, the storage of animals, the inclusion of family, and the release of birds to determine if the water level had subsided. The overwhelming consistency among flood stories found in distant parts of the globe indicates they were derived from the same origin.
Could this mean that even though some people who separated from Noah, after leaving the Ark, carried the flood story with them and told it to their kids? And this story was passed down from generation to generation, with only a few changes made but the basic parts still intact? I believe the answer is yes! And here's why: What are the possibilities of several different races of people from all around the world who have not spoke to one another(at least since Noah's flood) have the same basic story when most do not have a Bible and because it has been so long since any of their race has even heard of God, they have even forgotten who he is. But yet the story of the flood still lives on. How could this be unless the flood was real? So here's some questions to answer.
1) How could people from all around the world even think up a global flood and why would they need to?
2) How could the basic story parts as explained in the Bible be part of the global flood stories from all around the world?
3) How could most of these races who worship other Gods even know of the story of the global flood? Unless at one time they all worship the same God as explained in the Bible.
4) Without a Bible, what could they base their story on? etc...
The answer to all this is the Flood was real. There are to many variables to try and even explain it any other way. And the possibilities are endless of you even try.
