Science to replace religion?
Babylonian contributions to the world stem from about 3000-1600 BC., When the Babylonian writing system spread throughout the Near East. It brought with it the knowledge of astronomy, Mathematics and some sciences which the Greeks borrowed. Darwin studied the Babylonians and discovered that the soothsayers, of that time, had come up with an idea that man came from animals(a lower form of life). A type of evolution was being pushed but never made any headway. Darwin took this idea and added his own ideas to it. And these ideas have been past as Darwin's ideas and been given the names Evolution and Natural selection. Darwin had been given credit for thinking this idea up when actually He was not the first. Darwin just added a working mechanism (a science term) which made it more feasible sounding and it was soon accepted by those in the scientific world.
Soothsayer: One who claims to be able to foretell events or predict the future; a seer. They often used occultist objects to conjure up spirits to do their bidding's and to gain their knowledge to predict the future. They performed, what today would be considered witchcraft. And it was through their knowledge they gained that they came up with the idea of man coming from animals. In witchcraft, if you became high enough in the arts of doing this and becoming closer to Baal or Satan. You would gain powers that would allow you to do things that most other witches could not do. Which is morphing into another form. Usually an animal. Morphing in witchcraft does not require a complete transformation. Sometimes it just a change of appearance or sex ( male to female or female to male), but still remain human. I believe that this morphing is where the soothsayers got the idea of evolution. If you want to find out more on "morphing" using "witchcraft", just type those two words in any search engine.
Coming from the soothsayers of that day should give you an idea of it origination. Because it took an soothsayer to even think it up! But, what you don't know is science is now trying to get back to it's roots and become a religion? One type religion is called OEC(old earth creationist). Where God's word is replaced with science where ever science sees fit to do so. So here's some links so you can take a look your self and make up your own mind.

Then we have science and the religion of witchcraft.

This site says witchcraft made science. They use a story and give dates and people's names. http://www.survivalafterdeath.org/books/fodor/chapter19.htm
I do not see science complaining about witchcraft being mixed with science. Only when God is mixed do I see them having a problem. The word science is first mentioned in the bible Daniel 1:4 4. Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skillful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
Notice the word "Chaldeans". Chaldeans were inhabitants of southern Babylonia. Babylon was the capital of Babylonia. Remember, Babylon is where evolution was first thought up. Funny how Babylon, by the mention of the Chaldeans, gets into the same verse together where science is first mentioned in the bible. I think God put that there for a reason.
Note: Babylon is 55 mile south of present day Baghdad.
And here we see a warning to Timothy concerning science: Timothy 6:20-21, 20. O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
21. Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. Here we see a warning, and also an error(erred) in professing it concerning faith. So here we see God's word saying not to mix science with faith.
