We have to first prove the existence of the Israelites in Egypt. Recently archaeologists has found a city in Goshen. The Pharaoh gave Joseph this land after he had predicted the famine for seven years and saved Egypt by storing grain to outlast the famine. Joseph was allowed to move his whole family there and they built a small city. Both buildings and pottery that can be traced back to that time were found. The buildings were of the same design as some of the oldest buildings in Israel today.

This was not only for Egypt, but for all the surrounding cities and tribes. For the famine hit them also and they had to travel to Egypt to get food and water. Egypt could not survive without the trade of those around them. To let them parish means their economy would fall.
